Lord, We Need You Now!

It seems like I am posting more and more videos on the blog recently. That was never my intent when I started, but there are just so many that have impacted me. One of my favorite songs that I have been introduced to since coming to Cornerstone is "If We've Ever Needed You" by Casting Crowns. It is a song that speaks to the heart of dependence upon the Lord in all things.

We tend to sing songs like this during the bad times. Our lives are going through rough patches and our heart aches and we are moved by "If we've ever needed You, Lord, it's now." But truthfully, this is a song that is as much needed during the good times of life as well. If everything is good in your life, you should be crying out to the Lord that you need Him to keep you from self-dependence. We are so consumed by so many things each day that draw us and pull us away from the Lord. But our heart attitude should be that we need Him now!

Maybe your going through some trial right now in your life. Take some comfort in this song, cry out to Him with your need. And then open your Bible and hear from Him. Maybe things are great right now. Take joy in this song and cry out to Him today.

  1. Thanks for the reminder to call on him in the good times and the bad. I'm going through a challenging time currently, but I do know and am doing everything I can to hold fast to the word that tells me that "all things work together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purposes." As I strive to hold fast, your blog is an encouragement. I for one know that in your position, your not often thanked for your sacrifice. Today, let me say thanks for your dedication, sacrifice, and for following our Lord as He leads...and welcome to Middlefield! It really is a great place!
