Tomorrow night I will be at a fundraising banquet for Agape Christian Academy that will host Eric Metaxas as the keynote speaker. Since I had never heard of him, I decided to do a little research. I found out that he is a well-acclaimed writer and speaker. He is probably most famous for two biographies that he has written in the past several years. The first biography was on the life of William Wilberforce and more recently, Dietrich Bonhoeffer. These are both books that I would probably enjoy. I just can't believe I have missed them somehow in all of my reading.
Today is the National Day of Prayer. I hope that you take some time today to pray for our country, but mostly, for the truth of Jesus and the gospel to go forth. As I was doing some research on Eric Metaxas, I found this video of him as the speaker at the 2012 National Prayer Breakfast. I was very thankful for his testimony and boldness to speak of his relationship with Jesus. As well, I was thankful for his courage to speak for the dignity of the unborn, especially with who was in attendance. This video will be worth your while to watch. He is humorous, well, really sarcastic. Maybe that is why I liked listening to him. I look forward to an opportunity to possibly meet him tomorrow night at the fundraising banquet and to be challenged by what he has to say.
